Hounds of love

Micheal Wieland - a.k.a. Saint Bernard of Love - held down the middle slot at the Aug. 16 show. He was abetted by Ryan Hough and Jose Palacios (of Books on Books and My Dad Vs. Yours, respectively), as he was at the first SBoL set I witnessed when he opened for Saturday Looks Good To Me; Damon and Bill Guerrero from his other band, The Expatriates, were also helping out and the whole gang was rounded out by flautist JoHanna.

Wieland sings while a few other members squeeze into the Avant-Garde Bar's window space ...

Wedged behind Michael are Damon and Jose. There was not really enough room to manouevre around in, but somehow they managed.

Ryan and JoHanna provide some high end.

A view of Bill, Damon and Jose through the lobby window.

More Johanna and Bill.

Damon tries his hand at some drumming while Jose scrunches.

If you look at Ryan's T-shirt you can not quite see the word "She" has been taped over Sun ... thus, the She-Ra Arkestra/Orchestra.

Another fine show of VU-influenced rock.
