Around the universe

I like Young Galaxy; apart from the psychedelic space-rock they have a fine sense of presentation. Sure, I'm not too keen on the smoke machines, but they also have a laser. More importantly, psychedelic space-rock goes well with smoke and lasers. This was a release show for their new record Invisible Republic, and everything went swimmingly - there music seems more driving this time about, and less like a reflection of The Besnard Lakes, the band I first saw them perform with.

Mysterious hooded figures (in this case multi-instrumentalist Max Henry) turn knobs and push buttons in the smoke ...

Lasers! Also Stephen Ramsay and Catherine McCandless rocking her hoodie.

Mmm ... lasers. They're even better than Christmas lights.

And one final sample of egregious shutter-speed abuse.

A very entertaining show as always.
