Now that's cold

In Antarctica have songs with titles like Oh, Jacques Derrida! What Have You Done? and A Song For A Failed Cartographer. They've just released their first album, Elegies for the Mysteries of Missed Histories ... folks who listen to more indie rock than I do (i.e. Ming Wu) have suggested they sound a bit like The Ghost Is Dancing and Hey Rosetta. I lump it in with the gang's-all-here sound of Broken Social Scene and Jetplanes of Abraham, even though they've only got five members.

First guitar action with David Reid and violin action with Hilarey Cowan (you can also see a bit of drummer Chris Ryan).

On the other side of the stage, we have Andrew Loeb and a somewhat obscured Richie Reyes.

They're taking a break from shows to do some more songwriting and website-upgrading.
  • Show reminder: Jason Collett, Zeus and Bahamas perform at Zaphod Beeblebrox; Last Night The Band and The Ginger Fox are at the Rainbow; Downline and Ben Emond roll into the Elmdale House.
