Another kind of blue

After seeing The Occidental Brothers Dance Band International at the Black Sheep Tent I ambled over the hill behind the War Museum to scope out the Hard Rock Stage. Slide To Freedom had sounded intriguing. The trio features Salil Bhatt on the satvik veena, Ramkumar Mishra on the tablas and slide guitarist Doug Cox on recording; for this gig Cassius Khan handled the percussion.

Here we have Bhatt tuning his 20-string instrument. What I saw of the set seemed to feature a disproportionate amount of tuning.

And last but not least chatty fellow Khan.

Interesting, but not enough to stop me from racing off to see Hollerado.
  • Show reminder: Septeto Nacional de Cuba rhumbas into Zaphod Beeblebrox; Union Jack is at the Rainbow; not exactly musical, but Crush Improv performs at the Elmdale House.
