You must remember this

A few years back Jon Kiely of Harshey told me about his new band that was just coalescing ... it was a chance for him to step out from behind the drum kit and play guitar. Since the band was really just "okay" they were going to call themselves The Allrights. And so it came to pass! Except that circumstances once again put Jon on the drummer's seat. Well, now a bunch of Allrighters have formed a new band, and darn it if this time around Jon is playing guitar and singing. Dave Banoub, Chris Cook (also of the late Centretown Cripplers) and Colin Majid of Garaga are also on board, along with Brian on drums. They lake that 1990s indie rock and sounded mighty fine opening up for Weezer tribute artists Sheezer.

Their next show is Jan. 14 at Cafe DeKcuf.
  • Show reminder: It's New Year's Eve, and that means shows aplenty around town, starting with I Spell It Nature and The City Above at Zaphod's; Year Zero and Male Nurse (celebrating the end of his song-a-day odyssey) perform at Babylon (followed by Shameless); Good2Go and The Bushpilots rock The Elmdale Tavern; The Hammerheads hold the funky fort at the Rainbow. The Souljazz Orchestra will keep the afrobeat at Mavericks; The Dusty Drifters perform at Irene's.
