Bluesfest: Spam Allstars

Of the many and varied styles of music I enjoy, the combination of live band and DJ do not rank high. I'll make an exception for DJ Le Spam - a.k.a. Andrew Yeomanson - and his funky crew of latin-hip-hop-soul-jazzers since they bring it all together so well. And because I like flute.

They're no Blood Ceremony, mind you ... here's Mercedes Abal.

Here we have Jose Elias on guitar, more Mercedes, saxman A.J. Hill and extra conch.

I guess I better throw in a picture or two of Yeomanson.

Then I went off to see The Dropkick Murphys, who were a bit different.
