Dungeons and dragons

There seems to be a lot of loud music about this Thanksgiving, with Napalm Death and Fuck The Facts playing Maverick tonight and Doll, Inire and Hanzel and Gretyl there Monday, among other shows around town. Last night's entry into the volume dealers contest was The Dominion Tavern, and hot sets from Monobrow, The Uncooperatives and Loviatar.

First up Monobrow. Here's Sam and Brian.

Paul frets! It was a very orange set.

I haven't seen The Uncooperatives before. I've seen vocalist Geoff around, and guitarist Greg Kerr has served in sundry local combos, such as The Phantom Shifters. The other folks are veterans of Grave Concern, and this was a pretty hardcore sounding set.

Here's the Grave side, with drummer Jarek, bassist Chris and guitarist Pat.

And the Phantom bit with Greg and Geoff (also of The Cruds).

Finally Loviatar rocked the joint, sounding quite High-on-Fiery, with a cover of Queens of the Stone Age's Regular John as a capper. But first, a quick discussion about the importance of the evolution of Dungeons & Dragons from Justin!

And now some rocking from Mike and Shane.

Great night and a very good turnout too.
