Bluesfest: Funky Meters

I don't consider myself a music know-it-all, but I'm a bit surprised that The Meters were treated like some cult band only heard by serious funk heads in some of the pre-Bluesfest writeups. Aren't Look-A Py Py and Cissy Strut certified classics? At any rate, The Funky Meters are a successor of sorts, featuring original Meter men Art Neville on keys and George Porter Jr. on bass, with drummer Russell Batiste and guitarist Brian Stoltz dating from the band's official 1994 inception.

Art!

And here's George, Brian and Russell, who nearly demolished the riser with his powerhouse drumming.
