How you get your kicks

October 4 I went off to Mavericks to finally see one of Canada's best-known combos, Halifax by way of Toronto power popsters Sloan. I own all their albums but had never managed to catch them live. Opening for them was Teenage Kicks, a band whose music doesn't sound nearly enough like The Undertones' for my liking.

Peter van Helvoort on guitar.

Singalong action with another of the band's two guitarists. Whether it's Christian Turner or Peter Marchent I know not.

No local shows that I know of are planned, but there are some upcoming CMW dates if you're in the Big Smoke that week.
  • Show reminder: Hate Eternal, Battlecross, Argus Panoptes, Accursed Creation and Obduracy destroy Mavericks.
