Koo-koo-ka-joob

A week ago Saturday I headed over to Mugshots to check out Toronto's The Auras and Haligonians Walrus. I caught The Auras at a Debaser-curated show featuring The Swollen Eyes and Spectre in August 2013. Then as now, they gave off quite a Brian Jonestown-styled vibe.

On to Walrus, who put on a terrific show, super psychedelic pop. I gather they were a sextet last year, now they're down to a hard-hitting quartet.

Percussive action with Jordan Murphy!

Some great guitarwork as well from Justin McGrath, while Adam Ledrew provides a solid bottom.

Justin Murphy rocks the Danelectro (and does most of the singing).
